TABLE GROVE - Ralph D. Farr, age 88, of Table Grove, Ill., passed away at 9:40 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, in the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, Ill.
He was born on Nov. 23, 1925, at the home in Table Grove where he resided his entire life, a son of Hugh Melvin and Anna Elizabeth (Schuman) Farr. On Dec. 1, 1946, Ralph married Beatrice Allen in Adair, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Katherine (and Randy) Stenerson of Hardin, Mont.; his son, Dan Farr of Table Grove, Ill.; two granddaughters, Amber (and Mathew) Link of Hardin, Mont., and Jobeth (and Terry Borne) Stenerson of Rochester, Wash.; his sister-in-law, Donna Farr of Table Grove, Ill.; two brothers-in-law, Bernard Allen of Quincy, Ill., and Gerald McCormick of Bushnell, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
Ralph was preceded in death by his sister, Ida Lou Wherley; and three brothers, Hugh, Donald and Jack Farr.
He farmed in the Table Grove area his entire life, working to improve and expand the family farm. He and his family were awarded the Conservation Farm Family of the Year in 1998.
Ralph was a member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau his entire life. He was also a member of the Fulton County Soil and Water Board and the Table Grove Community Improvement Board.
Services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Table Grove Community Church. Pastor Rob Harrison will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Harris Cemetery in Table Grove.
Memorials may be made to the Table Grove Fire and Rescue Squad.
