MACOMB - Randall A. Hamilton, 64, of Macomb, Ill., passed away at 4 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at his residence.
He was born July 9, 1948, in Olney, Ill., to Virgil A. and Evelyn L. (Everett) Hamilton. He married Donnice Beard in Macomb on June 29, 1971. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Evelyn Hamilton of East Peoria, Ill.; three children, Jamy Hamilton of Cuba, Mo., Jesse Hamilton of Whitefish, Mont., and Wyatt Hamilton of Macomb, Ill.; and two sisters, Lavonne Hamilton Klein of Morton, Ill., and Susan (Ray) Hurt of Deer Creek, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Randy was a devoted husband and father.
He came to Macomb in 1966 to attend Western Illinois University and was on the track team.
He worked at King Seely Thermos and McGraw Edison in Macomb. He was also a self-employed carpenter.
He was the owner of the Shoot n Shack from 1985 until it closed in 2002. He was a gun enthusiast. He enjoyed trading, collecting and restoring antique guns and gardening.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home. His brother-in-law David Beard will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to McDonough District Hospital Hospice Program or to the Church of Christ.
