PEORIA - Robert Herschel DeSelms, 75, of Whitinsville, Mass., formerly of Peoria, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011.
He was the beloved husband of Virginia A. (Zeller) DeSelms and loving father to Christopher W. DeSelms and his wife, Colleen of Lake Worth, Fla., Dr. Robert H. DeSelms and his wife, Jaea Hahn of Washington, D.C., and James M. DeSelms and his wife, Susan of West Newton, Mass. He was a brother of Sandra Marie Manning of Green Valley, Ariz. He also is survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Robert was born March 26, 1936, in Peoria, Ill., the son of the late Herschel and Loretta Marie (Hefton) DeSelms. He had been a resident of Peoria before moving to Whitinsville in 1966.
Robert was a graduate of Illinois State University in Normal, Ill., class of 1962.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at Buma Funeral Home, 480 Church St., Whitinsville, Mass. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the memorial service.
