MAPLETON - Ross W. Williamson, 77, of Mapleton passed away at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at his residence.
Ross was born Sept. 2, 1934, in Gillespie, Ill., the son of John W. and Marie (Alhiem) Williamson. He married Linda Phipps in Carlinville, Ill., on Jan. 19, 1961.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years; two sons, Ross (Becky) Williamson Jr. and Kenneth Williamson, both of Glasford; three daughters, Brenda Dunniway of Pekin, Suzie Williamson of Pekin and Linda (Dennis) Montgomery of Glasford; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
He worked for IBS Scrap Yard as a truck driver for 30 years.
He was a Korean War veteran.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Reed will officiate. Visitation will be today, Friday, March 9, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kingston Mines Cemetery.
