EAST PEORIA - Ryan Regan, 35, of East Peoria died at 10:12 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Pekin Hospital in Pekin.
He was born March 18, 1978, in Peoria to Michael and Deborah Ryan Regan, who survive and now reside in Lehigh Acres, Fla. On Aug. 30, 1997, he married Samantha Rachel Forsythe in Lowpoint, Ill. She survives.
He is also survived by his four children, Benjamin, Caden, Dylan and Sophia, all at home in East Peoria; one brother, Nicholas Regan of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; three sisters, Barbi Regan of Springfield, RaeAnne Regan of Pekin and Leona Regan of Covington, Tenn.; and his mother and father-in-law, Terry (Deb) Forsythe of East Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Ryan was a journeyman lineman for 15 years. He currently was with IBEW Local 51 and 111, last working with J.F. Electric out of Edwardsville. He was a proud member of the team of linemen who helped restore power to the city of Washington and Pekin following the recent tornadoes.
He was a board member of East Peoria JFL. He also volunteered as a JFL coach and also was an East Peoria community baseball coach. He enjoyed coaching his boys as well as other young men.
He loved the band Metallica and the Chicago Bears.
There will be a funeral service for Ryan at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Pastor Howard Love will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
