ROANOKE - Shirley E. Gerber, 58, of Roanoke, Ill., passed away at 4:35 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Jan. 18, 1956, in Peoria, Ill., to Lyle E. and Barbara E. Nohl Moser. She married Rick L. Gerber on Nov. 7, 1976, in Roanoke. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Byron (Jenean) Gerber of Roanoke; one daughter, Brandi Gerber of Eureka; her parents, Lyle and Barb Moser of Roanoke; two brothers, Greg (Sharlene) Moser of Roanoke and Todd (Kathy) Moser of Roanoke; and two sisters, Gladys (Tom) Carr of Secor and Sue Garber of Roanoke.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark Moser and Leslie Moser; one grandson, Micah Gerber; and one daughter-in-law, Lisa Gerber.
Shirley was a medical transcriptionist and had worked for the Advocate BroMenn Group/Town and Country Health Care for approximately 24 years.
Shirley cherished the time spent with family and friends and especially enjoyed traveling and camping with them over the years.
She was a member of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
