ROSEVILLE - Thelma Louise Schisler, 82, of Roseville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday Feb. 21, 2013, at 11:15 p.m.
She was born Dec. 9, 1930, in Avondale, Colo., to William and Manita Reynolds.
Her father passed away when she was 12 years old and they moved to Roseville. She graduated from Roseville High School, where she played basketball and exhibited a sewing project in 4-H at the state fair.
She graduated from Western Illinois University, majoring in art.
She married Donald "Jake" Schisler on Dec. 19, 1953. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2008.
They had five children, Terry (Melanie) Schisler, Donna (Joe Miller) Frakes, Ted (Tracy Smith) Schisler, Lorrie (Tim Taylor) Schisler and Danny (Angela) Schisler, all of Roseville.
Also surviving are one brother, Raymond Reynolds of Oquwaka, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, Joe, Jon, Dustin, Justin, Cassie, Joshua, Leslie, Lacey, Brandon, Alexa and Shaniah; several great-grandchildren and stepgrandchildren.
She supported each of her children in their endeavors, tractor pulling, demo derbying, horse showing, 4-H, and cross country.
Her passions were her Arabian horses. She also raised miniature dachshunds, Siberian huskies, and Australian shepherds. She enjoyed attending Jake's Army reunions with the family.
She returned to school in 1984 and graduated from Carl Sandburg College as a registered nurse.
Graveside service will be Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Roseville Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Corman Memorial Home, Roseville, Ill.
