PEORIA - Wayne E. Caho, 84, of Peoria, Ill., passed away on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria.
He was born June 16, 1929, in Peoria, Ill., to Wayne and Elizabeth (Vicary) Caho. He married Lois Knight on Nov. 12, 1949, in Peoria, Ill.
Wayne was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the American Legion Post 979. After his service to our country, he became a machinist for E.M. Smith, retiring in 1991, after 42 years of service.
Wayne was a member of the First Christian Church of Creve Coeur and a past member of the West Bluff Christian Church in Peoria, the Greater Peoria Dart Ball League and the Hanna City Sportsmen's Club.
Wayne loved spending time with his family, working in his yard and attending dirt track races and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Surviving are his children, Diane (Gene) Stockton of Edelstein, Ill., Debra (Terry) Hess of Hanna City, Ill., and Douglas (Merideth) Caho of Peoria, Ill.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his sister, Lois (Earl) Markle of Peoria, Ill.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; and sister, Dorothy Sturgis.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery.
