Wendy Richey Obituary

PEORIA - Wendy Jayne Richey (Parola), 57, of Peoria passed away in her home on Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

She now joins her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

She was born in Herrin, Ill., the daughter of Armand and Jane Parola. They preceded her in death.

She is also preceded in death by one grandson, Eric Morris.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph M. Richey of Peoria, Ill. They were married on Oct. 18, 1999, in Springfield.

She is also survived by her two daughters of a previous union, Keri Morris of Hot Springs, Ark., and Peri Morris of Cambria; her stepchildren, Joe Jr. and Dawayne Hight of Peoria, Ill., Rochelle Chase of Chillicothe, Erik Richey of Davenport, Iowa, Emilie Richey of Cambridge and Crystal Garner of Springfield; grandchildren, Will and Sly Hardy of Springfield, Amber Meadows of Zeigler, Amarah, Emma, Isaiah, Oliana, Ulana, Yavela and Alyssa Richey of Cambridge; siblings, Virgil Parola of Springfield, John Parola of Bangkok, Thailand, Vikki Devor of Brazil, Ind., and Linda Duprey of Royalton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wendy was a member of the Riverside Community Church and lived her life for the Lord. She and her husband worked together to minister and share their own testimonies in the Celebrate Recovery Program at their previous church in southern Illinois and also at Riverside in Peoria.

Wendy loved animals and devoted her life to the care and rescue of many furry friends over the years.

In her earlier life, she worked as a seamstress and recently was self employed, doing home improvement and cleaning services. Lastly, she was the house manager at Prairie Center of the Arts.

She loved to spend time with family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service at Riverside Community Church will be on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at noon. Clary Funeral Home, 3004 W. Lake Ave., in Peoria has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to Cancer Treatment Centers of America or Vitas Hospice Care.
