MAPLETON - William A. Fischer, 90 years old, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., the father of a Mapleton woman, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis, Mo.
He was born Thursday, Oct. 26, 1922, in River Aux Vases, Mo.
He is survived by daughter, Rose (Dan) Hordesky of Mapleton, Ill., daughter, Fran (Steve) Dietrich of Columbia, Ill., daughter, Carol (Mark) Rogers of Ballwin, Mo., daughter, Mary (Chas) Curran of St. Louis, Mo., daughter, Sue (Ron) Stuppy of Bloomsdale, Mo.; one sister; one brother; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. Fischer; daughter, Patricia Fischer; 10 brothers and sisters; and parents, Charles and Philomena (Fritsch) Fischer.
Visitation will be at Basler Funeral Home, Ste. Genevieve, Mo., on Saturday, May 18, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Service will be at Sts. Philip & James on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. The clergy will be the Rev. Raymond Oge. Burial will be at Sts. Philip & James Cemetery in River Aux Vases, Mo.
Memorials can be made to Sts. Phillip & James Church or Ste. Genevieve Nutrition Center Meals on Wheels. Services performed under the directions of Basler Funeral Home Inc. in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.
