PEORIA - William Glen Lambert, 79, of Hugo, Okla., formerly of Peoria, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.
Memorial services for William will be held on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home, with Randy Schreurs officiating.
William was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., to Clarence Rudolph and Alice Ruth (Brader) Lambert.
Bill taught economics for Central High School in Peoria, Ill. After his retirement, he moved to Hugo, Okla., and lived there for the past 17 years.
William served his country as a PFC in the United States Army from 1957 to 1963. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hugo and attended the Men's Club.
Bill liked reading; working crossword puzzles; playing on the computer, especially Free Cell; and tinkering on his land. He was also a Master Woodland owner.
Bill belonged to the Lions Club of Hugo, the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. He was an alumnus of Bradley University and a member of its Veteran's Club.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He is survived by his daughters, Suzanne Lambert-Lewellen (Tom) of Peoria, Ill., and Alyssa Lambert-Marks (Reggie), also of Peoria, Ill.; grandchildren, Olivia Lewellen and Jeremmie Marks; as well as other relatives and friends.
