PEORIA - Larry Flanagan Jr., 69, of Peoria, formerly of Lehigh Valley, Pa., passed away at 5:25 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Dec. 1, 1942, in Orange, N.J., to Lawrence J. Sr. and Mary (Bacher) Flanagan. He married Beth Latimer in Jacksonville Beach, Fla., on April 16, 1966. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Lawrence George (Heather) Flanagan of Fairfax Station, Va., and Jason (Robyn) Flanagan of Peoria, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Meghan, Connor, Jason Patrick, Colleen and Caeley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patti.
Larry was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Saratoga during the Cuban Missile Crisis and also served with the Florida National Guard.
He received his bachelor's degree in building construction from the University of Florida.
He was a member of the Illinois Masonic Lodge No. 263 in Peoria and was also a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
Cremation has been accorded. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria, with Masonic services following. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria, with the Rev. Mike Shirey officiating.
