GLASFORD - Lee F. Hornbaker, 90, of Glasford, Ill., died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
He was born on March 31, 1923, in Glasford. He was the son of Merle and Hazel (Wilson) Hornbaker.
Lee farmed in the Glasford area all of his life. He was retired from Hiram Walker Distillery, working more than 30 years, last as a bottling line supervisor.
He was a World War II and Korean Conflict marine veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post 35 in Glasford and was the current treasurer and former commander of that post, and served on the honor guard with post members. He was a member of the 40 et 8 of the Legion of which he was also a past commander. Lee was a member of the Marine Corps League Peoria Leathernecks and the Peoria County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald and John Hornbaker; and one sister, Betty Lou Hersemann.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at the Glasford United Methodist Church. The Rev. Walter R. Wilkins will officiate. A visitation will be held Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey Glasford Chapel in Glasford and 30 minutes to prior services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery in Glasford with military rites presented by American Legion Post 35.
