Peoria - Dorothy Armstrong, 83, of Peoria passed away at 10:25 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist.
She was born Jan. 22, 1931, to Jake Tucker and Adell Fingers. She was married to her beloved late husband Nathaniel Armstrong for 49 years.
Dorothy worked as a domestic engineer and was very dedicated to her family.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories five sons, Nathaniel Armstrong of Atlanta, Reginald (Jackie) Armstrong of Peoria, Eric Armstrong of Las Vegas, Marvin (Linda) Armstrong and Sidney Armstrong, both of Los Angeles; six daughters, Elaine (Chip) Lampro of Las Vegas, Phyllis (Chet) Williams of Los Angeles, Rosalyn (Robert) Lindsey, Karen Armstrong, Sharon Armstrong, and Melinda (Jonathan) Harris, all of Peoria; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family members and friends who truly loved her and will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son and four daughters.
A memorial service in her honor will be Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Greater City of Refuge Church. Memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Bishop Timothy Criss will officiate. The repast will be held at church immediately following the memorial service.
Arrangements were made especially for Dorothy's family and professionally directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel.
