PEORIA - Dolores J. Jackson, 84, of Peoria, Ill., died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria.
She was born on May 18, 1929, in Tilden, Ill. She was the daughter of William Thomas (Bessie Lorene Hemphill) Cheek. She married Victor Jackson on Sept. 30, 1961, in Lincoln, Ill. He preceded her in death in May of 1982 in Peoria, Ill.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruth (Leland) McLennan and Mary Lou Lonergan.
Dolores has three daughters, Vicki Grashoff of Peoria, Ill., Penny (Stacy) Johnson of Dunlap, Ill., and Jeannie (David) Kobler of Knoxville, Ill. She has one brother-in-law surviving, Jerry Lonergan of Canton, Mich. She has six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She worked at the Cohen Furniture Store in Peoria, and for many years at Cargill-Nutrena Company.
Dolores was an avid bowler and golfer in various leagues in the Peoria area, and loved playing cards.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Arnold will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
