PEORIA - Frank James Rowry Sr., 58, of Peoria passed away at 12:22 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist.
He was born on Oct. 1, 1955, to the late Jessie Rowry and Johnnie Mae Sims. He married his soul mate and love of his life, Brenda Robinson, in 1990. She survives him.
Frank was currently employed at Behr of Peoria Inc., and retired from Fredman Bros. Furniture Co., with over 20 years of services.
He was a hard-working man and a pillar of the South end. He considered himself a weekend warrior. Work and family were his life. He loved his wife dearly. He was an avid car lover and always obtained what he desired. He had his own special way with words. His sayings were philosophical; one has to ponder his meanings.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving and faithful wife, Brenda; three sons, Eric Thomas, Marcus Robinson and Lorenzo Rowry; two daughters, Erica Rowry and Amanda Rowry, all of Peoria; a brother, Jessie (Donna) Shack and Gene Rowry, both of Peoria; one sister, Annie Mae Sims; and 10 grandchildren; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends whom loved and adored him.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Arika D. Thomas.
The home going services celebrating Frank's life will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel at 201 N. MacArthur Highway, Peoria, at 10 a.m. Family will greet friends at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Dwayne Hopson will officiate. Frank will be laid to rest in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
Arrangements were made especially for Frank's family and professionally directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel.
