Julie Deeb Obituary

PEORIA - Julie Deeb, 91, of Peoria died at 1:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at her home.

Julie was born Sept. 30, 1922, in Peoria to Paul and Sadie (Joseph) Deeb.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Barbara, Pauline and Marsha Deeb; and five brothers, Peter, Joseph, Paul, Thomas and Dan Deeb.

She is survived by two sisters, Carol Deeb of Peoria and Mary Tully of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Carol Deeb of Washington, Ill.; 15 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Julie retired Aug. 30, 1984, as assistant vice president in the personal banking department of the then Commercial National Bank in Peoria.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Peoria.

Julie was a fun-loving, hard-working, family-oriented daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed travel, her Chicago Cubs, and playing slot machines and practical jokes.

Carol and Mary wish to thank Dr. Edward Pritzker and his caring staff for their professionalism and their willingness to be available anytime they were needed. Their boundless support made a long, challenging road easier to travel. The family is also grateful to UnityPoint Health-Methodist Home Health and three of their dedicated angels, Bobbie Brown, RN; Maribeth Jenkins, LPN; and Sharon Brown, CNA. Their exceptional care and guidance and their cheerful, professional willingness to treating not only Julie, but the loved ones surrounding her, went well beyond what we have come to expect. A special thank you to the greatest caregiver team in the region, Irma Perdue, Debbie Gray, Jodi Suddeth, Tonya Mechling, Erin Clifford and Sharon Brown. No task was too big or distasteful for them to handle or too difficult for them to complete. Most of all, the love they showed and the encouragement they gave to Julie filled her last years with promise, fun and friends.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Franciscan Fathers will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with recitation of the rosary at 6:45 p.m. An additional visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in West Peoria.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate, 4722 N. Sheridan Road, Peoria, IL 61614.
