TOLUCA - Lois Evelyn Guderjan, 88, of Toluca died at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon.
Her funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Toluca, with Pastor Ryan Anderson officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Toluca. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home in Toluca and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, prior to services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church, St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon or the Toluca Ambulance Fund.
Lois was born July 31, 1925, on a farm near Varna, the daughter of Joseph and Isabella Bathgate Modro. She attended several country grade schools and graduated from Varna High School in 1943. She married Robert T. Guderjan on March 3, 1946, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Toluca. They lived on the family farm until 1977, when they built a new home in Toluca.
She is survived by a brother, Marion (Virginia) Modro; a sister, Leta Laible; and a sister-in-law, Helen Modro, all of Toluca; and several nieces and nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, on Jan. 22, 2005; two brothers, LeRoy and Willis; and three nieces.
Lois was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Toluca.
She had worked at Granert's Clothing Factory in Toluca and Dorothy's Figurines in Rutland.
