WEST PEORIA - Helen M. Bor, 87, of West Peoria died at 5:35 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at Fondulac Rehabilitation Care Center in East Peoria.
She was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Peoria to John A. and Helen F. (Hartley) Lonsdale. She married Anton "Tony" Bor on Sept. 24, 1972, in Peoria. He died Aug. 12, 1988, in Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, C. Jean Nolan; and one brother, William Lonsdale.
Helen is survived by her brother, Roy (Bernita) Lonsdale of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
Helen last worked as a safety deposit clerk for Commerce Bank in Peoria for many years. She previously had worked as a teller for First National Bank, before it became Commerce Bank. Helen also had worked as a cashier for many years for Palace Cafeteria in Peoria, until its closing.
She was of the Free Methodist faith.
Helen was a member of Avon Collectors Club, Peoria Genealogy Society, Ladies Auxiliary of the Transportation Club of Peoria, Evening Bloomers African Violet Society, Hosta Society, West Peoria Garden Club, Stitchers Guild and Country Cousins Cat Club. She was a former member of Peoria Philatelic and American Philatelic Society.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at St. Mary's Cemetery in West Peoria. Dr. Ritch Boerckel will officiate.
The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria is handling arrangements.
