EAST PEORIA - Murielle V. VanBeuning, 90, of East Peoria, Ill., died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Heartland Healthcare of Peoria.
Born on Sept. 14, 1923, in Berwyn, Ill., to Leon and Luella Kruger Drow, she married Albert VanBeuning in June of 1960 in Pekin, Ill. He preceded her in death in January of 1977 in East Peoria, Ill.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Fred; and two sisters, Dorothy and Barbara.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon (Bruce) Libolt of Peoria, Ill., and Christine (Lee) Timmermann of Berkeley Heights, N.J.; one son, Bill (Carolyn) Rudd of Sunrise, Fla.; six grandchildren, Shelley (Keith) Norris, Matthew (Sandra) Timmermann, Benjaman Rudd, Meredith (Joey Flyntz) Timmermann, Andrew (Heather) Rudd and Morgan (Brian Schmidt) Timmermann; and eight great-grandchildren.
Murielle was a secretary for over 30 years, working for Hiram Walker in Peoria, Caterpillar Tractor Co. in East Peoria and St. Peter's Lutheran Church in East Peoria.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and was active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in East Peoria. Pastor Kurt Mews will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria and a half hour prior to service at the church Saturday. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
