PEORIA - Daniel Lee Poyner, 66, of Peoria passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, in Estero, Fla.
Born Nov. 13, 1947, in Franklin, Tenn., to Andrew and Ailie (Kurkinen) Poyner, he married Deborah J. Fansler on July 16, 1994, in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.
Also surviving are three sisters, Carol (Jack) McHenry of Morton, Debby (Walter) Murphy of East Peoria and Katherine Simms of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Preston Poyner, who passed away Feb. 14, 2014.
Dan was a sales rep for Royal Publishing in Peoria for 24 years, with many years as the top salesman in the company.
He was of the Christian faith.
Dan was a member of the Peoria Motorcycle Club.
He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida and he also loved watching all sports, especially watching his son, Preston, wrestle and play football.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Eastside Bible Church, 1310 W. Jefferson, Morton. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Private burial will be in La Prairie Presbyterian Cemetery in Sparland.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
