Cindy Salvati Obituary

CONGERVILLE - Cindy Salvati, 59, of Congerville passed away at 4:24 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Cindy was born on April 9, 1954, in Kewanee to Leroy and Betty Bouton Mallery. She married the love of her life, Mark Salvati, on Sept. 23, 1988, in Las Vegas, Nev. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Brooke Dana, 30, of Washington; two sons, Jason Dana, 28, of Edwards and Brandon (Lacey) Salvati, 32, of Peoria; her mother, Betty Mallery of Kewanee; three siblings, Terry (Crystal) Mallery of Kewanee, Jean Strom of Galesburg and Wendy (Paul) Holman of Abington; and one granddaughter, Ava Salvati.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Cindy was a 1973 graduate of Kewanee High School. She has been an active employee with Caterpillar Inc. for 35 years, working as an IT specialist and team lead. She was employed at the East Peoria facility, building AD, last working Tuesday.

Cindy spent her free time outdoors, where she loved gardening, fishing, riding motorcycles and racing Mustangs. She enjoyed being in her kitchen and trying out new recipes. Her favorite place to vacation was Fort Myers, Fla., where she loved being on the beach. One of her most cherished pastimes was spending time with her granddaughter, Ava, and making hair bows.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Pastor Howard Love will officiate. A visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the funeral home. There also will be a visitation a half hour prior to the service Monday. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
