Antoinette Amigoni Obituary

ROANOKE - Antoinette "Toni" Amigoni, 85, of Roanoke, Ill., passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born on March 26, 1929, in Schuyler, Neb., a daughter of Anton and Agnes Novak Kracl. She married Joseph "Bing" Amigoni on Sept. 25, 1954, in Schuyler, Neb. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2013.

Surviving are her four children, Susan (Ed) Schultz of Jacksonville, Fla., Nick Amigoni of Chicago, Ill., Mike (Kerry) Amigoni of Kansas and Mary Beth (Ron) Kiefner of Germantown Hills, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Toni graduated from Schuyler High School in 1947. She then attended Mount Saint Scholastica in Atchison, Kan., from 1947 to 1948. She was employed at the Air Force Finance Center in Denver, Colo., from 1948 to 1954. She then moved to Greenville, S.C., and later to Roanoke, Ill., in 1955. Toni graduated from Illinois Central College in the teacher's aide program and worked at Lincoln Junior High in Washington, Ill. She then worked at St. Francis Medical Center in cardiology services from 1971 to 1991, when she retired.

Toni was active as a 4-H leader, a member of Maple Lawn Homes Extension and the St. Joseph Altar and Rosary Society and Senior Saints of OSF St. Francis. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1. Msgr. Charles Beebe will officiate. A rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. at the church and visitation will be from 9:15 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Roanoke Township Cemetery.

Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 4-H or St. Joseph Altar and Rosary Society.
