Great-great grandma was 101

CHILLICOTHE - Bonita B. (Zerwekh) Bart, 101, of Chillicothe passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 1, 1912, in Peoria, Ill., the daughter of Mourice Elmer and Emily Pearl (Archdale) Zerwekh. She married Lewis David Level on Aug. 6, 1934, in Peoria, Ill. He passed away in June of 1945. She later married Al Bart on Feb. 11, 1949, in Arkansas. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1980.

Surviving are her children, Lynn (Jack) Henry of Orlando, Fla., David (Norma) Level of Quartz Hill, Calif., and Stephen Bart of Chillicothe; stepdaughter, Alice (Harry) File of Morrison, Ill.; former daughter-in-law, Sandy Tucker of Chillicothe; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving are one brother, Marvin Zerwekh of Peoria; and eight nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers, one sister, two grandsons and one great-grandson.

Bonita graduated from Manual High School in 1930. She attended ICC.

She was employed by Isaac Walker Hardware in Peoria and the Chillicothe Savings and Loan in Chillicothe.

Bonita lived in Chillicothe for over 74 years. She was a member of the Chillicothe Bible Church, Chillicothe Red Hats and TOPS.

She was an avid bell collector and a member of the Bell Association. She served as an election judge.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Chillicothe Bible Church, 434 W. Moffitt St., in Chillicothe. Pastor Stephen Beaulier will officiate. Burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church.
