ROANOKE - Kathryn L. Eden, 88, of Roanoke passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
She was born on Dec. 28, 1925, in Galesburg, Ill., to Howard and Kathryn Badgett Stevenson. She married Orville C. Eden on June 7, 1946, in Galesburg, Ill. He passed away on March 24, 1999.
Surviving are two sons, Jack (Debby) Eden of Galesburg and Fred (Phyllis) Eden of Roanoke; four daughters, Nancy (Emmett) Meinhold of Benson, Ill., Patti (Neal) St. John of Reno, Nev., Rebecca (Mike) Leah of San Antonio and Lori Koch of DePere, Wis.; one sister, Marion Tomlin of Galesburg; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Steven Eden; and one brother, Joseph.
Kathryn was co-owner of Eden's Taco House in Peoria for 20 years and the Eden's Club 116 in Roanoke until she retired in 1992.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Roanoke.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, at the Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke. The Rev. Bruce Scarbeary will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday before the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Roanoke Township Cemetery.
