Howard Lock Obituary

CANTON - Howard "Grumpy" Lock, 71, of Canton died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Graham Hospital Emergency Room in Canton.

He was born on Sept. 1, 1942, in Canton to Robert and Virginia (Ellsworth) Lock. They preceded him in death, along with his son, Mike. He married Sue Nelson on Sept. 7, 1962, in Canton. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Amy (Joel) Picton; three brothers, Danny (Kim Schisler) Lock of Canton, Gordon (Lois) Lock of Fairview and Gerald (Joyce) Lock of Maples Mill; one sister, Donna (Clinton) Parrish of Bartonville; four grandchildren, Katie King, Tory Picton, Taylor Lock and Tanner Picton; his brother-in-law, David (Sandra) Nelson of Spring, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Lock; and his fur babies, Lucy and Casey.

Howard worked for as a mailman and at International Harvester and Central Butane, was a truck driver for Kenny Owens Farms and lastly retired from Tarter Feed and Fertilizer.

He loved riding his Harley, hunting and fishing, but most of all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cremation rites have been accorded and the burial of ashes will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery following the service.
