TREMONT - Kathleen L. "Kitty" Oyer, 82, of Tremont passed away at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Pekin Manor in Pekin.
She was born June 24, 1931, in Pekin to Carl and Julia Elzinga Chadock. She married Allen E. Oyer on Feb. 10, 1951, in Tremont, and he passed away on Aug. 3, 2002.
Surviving are three sons, Greg Oyer of Thomasville, Ga., Jeff (Sue) Oyer of Metamora and Tim (Tami) Oyer of Tremont; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty (Paul) Woerner of Morton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Carol Montgomery.
Kitty was a homemaker. She was a member of Second Reformed Church in Pekin and sang in the choir. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Second Reformed Church in Pekin. The Rev. Bill Appleyard-Pekich will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Davis Mortuary in Tremont and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
