PEORIA - Angela M. Louis, 72, of Peoria passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria.
Angela was born Dec. 9, 1941, to Mathias and Marie (Kapraun) Louis. She was raised in Woodford County and attended school in Minonk.
Her parents preceded her in death, along with one nephew, David Alaksiewicz.
She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Louis of Henderson, Nev., and Carolyn Alaksiewicz of Peoria; and four nephews, Matthew, John, Mark and Michael Alaksiewicz.
Angela was a hair stylist for more than 50 years, working last at Miguel's in Peoria.
She volunteered as a chef for 10 years with the St. Jude Memphis to Peoria Run. She was also a member of Peoria Ski Club, German-American Club and Race for the Cure Peoria, Las Vegas and Frankfurt, Germany.
She was a member of Holy Family Church in Peoria, where she also sang in the choir.
A funeral Mass for Angela will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Holy Family Church in Peoria, Ill. Franciscan Friars will officiate the Mass. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria and also a half hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Benson, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Angela may be made to St. Jude Runs.
