CHILLICOTHE - Jeffery H. Bybee Sr., 56, of Chillicothe passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014, in Envigado, Antioquia, Colombia.

Jeffery was born on June 21, 1957, in Peoria, Ill., a son of Robert and Helen Bybee. He married Kelli A. Reese on May 10, 1976, in Peoria. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughters, Mandel "Mandi" (Ian) Killion of Chillicothe, Tara (Dan) Arevalo of Helotes, Texas, and Christina "Chrissy" (Dale) Brown of Atascosa, Texas; son, Jeffery (Bridgette) Bybee Jr. of Peoria; granddaughters, Kelsi Cassidy, Sabra Hardin, Kiyla and Taya Arevalo, Cyara and Cyonna Irions and Emery Brown; brothers, Robert (Vickie) Bybee of Chandler, Ariz., Gary (Toni) Bybee of Peoria, Ill., David Bybee of Peoria, Ill., and John Bybee of Peoria, Ill.; and in-laws, Vivienne and Joseph Reynolds of Chillicothe. Jeffery had so much love to give that he had extended his home to give children the greatest gift of all, a father's love. Kristen Daniels and Ernie and Shelly VanDyke joined the Bybee family and entered Jeff's heart.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Bybee Sr. and Helen (Chittum) Bybee; and father-in-law, Rex Reese.

Jeffery loved watching sports with his son. He loved spending time at home or anywhere with his family. Holidays were his favorite times. Jeffery had a tremendous faith in God and was a handsome, strong, smart, patient, fearless, easy-going and selfless man. He was an amazing husband, father, foster parent, PaPa, brother, son and role model.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Chillicothe Bible Church. Burial will be at noon on Friday, April 18, at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
