Dave Jackson Obituary

PEORIA - Dave Jackson Jr., 69, of Peoria passed away at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria, Ill.

He was born May 3, 1944, in Burbon, Miss., to the late Dave Jackson Sr. and Estella Gordon Jackson.

Dave enjoyed life. He graduated from Manual High School. He also received an electronic servicing certificate from Illinois Central College. He loved to work on television, computers and do other electrical work.

He was last employed at Cityscape Apartments as a maintenance and security worker.

He leaves to cherish his life, his loving mother, Estella Gordon Jackson of Peoria; one son, Dave (Carol) Jackson III of Texas; three daughters, Crystal Jackson, Kimberly (Steven) Starks and Carmela Jackson, all of Peoria, Ill.; four brothers, Willie (Jeanett) Jackson of Peoria, Randy (Marcia) Jackson of Missouri, Richard Jackson of Peoria and Samuel Jackson of Springfield, Ill.; seven sisters, Christine (Henry) Jackson, Celie Linwood, Estella (Eddie) Flowers, all of Peoria, Mallie (Isadore) McDuffy of Champaign, III., Mary (Ted) Jenkins, Linda (Henry) Butler, both of Peoria, and Rose Oyeyemi of Dayton, Ohio.

He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who love and will miss him dearly.

Dave was preceded in death by his father and one brother.

Homegoing service for Dave will be at noon Monday, April 21, 2014, with visitation commencing one hour prior at 11 a.m. at T. W. Parks Colonial Chapel, located at 201 N. MacArthur Highway, Peoria, Ill. Bishop Leroy Davis will officiate. Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Arrangements were made especially for Dave's family and professionally directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel.
