HANNA CITY - Ralph D. Deppermann, 86, of Hanna City, Ill., passed away at 11:50 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Glasford, Ill., to George and Alma (Slone) Deppermann. Ralph married Marian Heitzman on April 4, 1954, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 21, 2006.

Surviving are three children, Gary (Susana) Deppermann of Lemont, Janet (Tom) McGhee of Peoria and Carolyn (James) Williams of Peoria; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Wanda Schuman of Buffalo Grove.

Also preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers, Don, Roy and Dale.

Ralph farmed and worked as a biller for the Peoria Union Stockyard for more than 20 years.

He was a member of White Chapel United Methodist Church in Glasford.

Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict.

Services will be Thursday, April 24, at 11 a.m. at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, where visitation will be on Wednesday, April 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. The Rev. Mark Traeger will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Glasford.

Memorials may be made to the Logan-Trivoli Fire Department.
