CHILLICOTHE - Glen Lee Sharp, 88, of Chillicothe passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at the LaSalle Veterans Home in LaSalle, Ill.
He was born July 29, 1925, in Bluff City, Tenn., the son of William Glen and Carrie Lee (Latham) Sharp. He married Willa Mae Jackson on June 1, 1946, in Bristol, Va. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2010.
Surviving are two sons, Gary L. (Janet) Sharp and David W. (Judy) Sharp, all of Chillicothe; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are one brother, Henry Vance "Paul"; and four sisters Mabel, Helen, Louise and Blanche.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William.
Glen was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the South Pacific.
He was a truck and diesel mechanic, retiring from Greenview Nursery.
He enjoyed horseshoe competition, square dancing, playing the fiddle and gardening.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. A memorial service will be held following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery.
