TREMONT - Donald L. Meyer, 82, of Tremont passed away at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill.
He was born Oct. 13, 1931, in Cruger, Ill., to Leroy and Gladys (Michel) Meyer. He married Ann Brehmer on Oct. 10, 1959, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on Nov. 26, 1998. He later married Harriet Holmes on June 2, 2001, in Morton. She preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2013.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard Meyer; and one sister, Iona Meyer.
Surviving are daughter, Kelly (Kevin) Dennemann of Champaign, Ill.; one son, Scot Meyer of Mackinaw; one stepdaughter, Debra (Dale) Redmen of Varna, Ill.; three grandchildren, Kara Dennemann and Kailyn Dennemann, both of Champaign, and Elice Meyer of Los Angeles, Calif.; four stepgrandchildren; one great-grandson, Amarii Lyons of Champaign; 10 step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ilona McDonough of Morton; three brothers, Ed (Helen) Fisher of Middletown, Mo., Gene (Beverly) Fisher of Washington and Roger (Karla) Fisher of LaCrosse, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

Donald graduated from Washington Community High School in 1949 and attended Bradley University. He served with the United States Army from November of 1953 to November of 1955.
Donald worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years, retiring as an inspector. He also managed a service station in Tremont for several years.
His passion was fishing and family.
He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery in Eureka.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel Lutheran School, 325 E. Queenwood Road, Morton, IL 61550.
