PEORIA - Dori E. Rodgers, 80, of Peoria died at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014.
She was born Nov. 24, 1933, in Modena, Ill., to Bernice (Scott) Benedict-McMullen and Robert Benedict. She was married to the late James Dunbar on April 12, 1952, and to the late Herb Rodgers on Oct. 30, 1999.
Dori is survived by two daughters, Pam (Michael) Hennessy and Caron (Bill) Stratton; one son, Jeff (Sandy) Dunbar; two sisters, Audrey Whittaker of Princeville, Ill., and Nancy (Myron) Kargel of Reedsburg, Wis.; and a half brother, Gary McMullen of Arizona. She is also survived by Herb's five sons, Rick, Dirk, Dave, Randy and Rob. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and one brother, Phil Benedict.
Dori was the accountant for the family business, Dunbar Service, from 1973 to 1994.
Dori was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chillicothe, was a historian for the church and belonged to FUMC Leatha Circle Women's Club. Dori was also a charter member and one of the original landowners of the Indian Head Boat Club of Chillicothe.
She loved spending time with her family and was with them often.

Cremation rites were accorded and a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Chillicothe First United Methodist Church, with visitation starting at 1 p.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Ted Mitchell will officiate. Private family interment will be held at a later date in Blue Ridge Cemetery in Edelstein, Ill.
