PEORIA - Charles Williams, 69, of Peoria passed away at 4:39 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born March 10, 1945, in Peoria to the late Elizabeth Williams Young.
Charles was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He loved his children, each one being his favorite. Charles was a good man who always wore a smile. He always spoke his mind and lived his life to the fullest. Charles also served in the Unites States Army and was honorably discharged after fulfillment of his service.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, two sons, Anthony Murray of Washington, Ill., and Charles Williams II of Peoria; three daughters, Denise (Fred) Davidson of Washburn, Ill., Rita (Albert) Hope of Columbia, Tenn., and Cassandra Davis of St. Paul, Minn.; 20 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends whom loved and will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Young; one daughter, Shawna Williams; and one granddaughter, Evelyn Allen.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Grace Baptist Church, 405 N. Richard Pryor Place, Peoria, Ill., with visitation commencing one hour prior at 9 a.m. The Rev. Leon Gatlin will officiate. Charles will be laid to rest at Camp Butler National Cemetery, 5063 Camp Butler Road, Springfield, Ill.
Arrangements were made especially for Charles' family and professionally directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel.
