PEORIA - Marilyn J. Spainhower, 87, of Laguna Hills, Calif., formerly of Peoria, died on Wednesday, April 30, 2014.

Marilyn was born to Florence and Willis Schueth of Bloomington, Ill., attended Illinois State University, and worked as a social worker at Catholic Charities of Peoria, Ill. She married Paul on Sept. 13, 1952. They recently celebrated their 61st anniversary.

She is survived by daughters, Kathy Manning, Mary Everett (Chris), Julie Clark (Chris) and Patrice Bennett (Warren); son, Marty; nine grandchildren, Nichol Bolero (Chris), Sean Manning (Kimberly), Daniel Clark (Shannon), Stephen, Ashley and Melanie Spainhower, Kelli Clark and James and David Bennett; and one great-grandson, John R. Manning.

Services will be Monday, May 5, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Kilian Church in Mission Viejo, Calif.
