Peoria - Jace Levin Hersey, 5 months, of Peoria passed away and left our arms to be in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, May 6, 2014.
Jace was born Dec. 2, 2013, to Jonathan and Lindy (Moser) Hersey, in Peoria. They survive.
He also is survived by his sister, Eliana Hersey of Peoria, Ill.; grandparents, Paul and Marilyn Moser of Peoria, Ill., Randy Hersey of Detroit and Debbie Hersey of Huntington, Ind.; great-grandparents, Art and Millie Moser of Peoria, Ill., J. Lindley and Mary Steere, of Peoria, Ill., and Ed and Joan Robbins of Huntington, Ind.; aunts and uncles, Josh and Andrew Moser of Peoria, Ill., Joy, Joanna and Jordan Hersey of Huntington, Ind.; and all other family in Christ.
Jace was so brave and strong. Few display the courage he had, and now his battered heart will soar, and his wounds will be turned into wings.
A funeral service for Jace will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Living Waters Lutheran Church in Peoria. Pastor Mark Schoenhals will officiate. Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 5 p.m.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2014.
Memorial donations in honor of Jace may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or Lurie Children's Hospital.
Jace's family would like to extend a thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Children's Hospital of Illinois at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and Lurie Children's Hospital for the immeasurable support, love and care they gave to Jace.
