CONGERVILLE - Gail R. Bishop, 58, of Congerville, Ill., passed away at 10:19 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at her home.
She was born Feb. 21, 1956, in Beardstown, Ill., to Arthur L. and Velma (Price) Harris. She married Donald "Tom" Bishop on Dec. 16, 1973, in Pekin, Ill. He survives.
Also surviving are her six children, Heidi (David) Mathews of Eureka, Kristen (Michael) Mullins of Metamora, Jason Bishop of Congerville, Tyler (Asako) Bishop of Deer Creek and Matthew and Kaitlyn Bishop, both of Congerville; two sisters, Donna (James) Griffie of Chandlerville, Ill., and Retha (David) Bailey of Pekin; one brother, Brent Harris of Tennessee; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Eddie Harris.
Gail was a homemaker who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved pets. She also loved to garden. Gail loved to sing country music and dancing. Gail touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Deer Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Paul Maitland will officiate. Cremation will be accorded.
Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
