BARTONVILLE - Leo F. Trainer 92, of Bartonville passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 3:02 a.m. at Hopedale Nursing Home.
Leo was born April 25, 1922, in East Peoria, the son of Simon and Minnie Lane Trainer. He married Barbara Irwin in September of 1943. He later married Beulah Rollings on Feb. 12, 1960.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years; two daughters, Virginia (Douglas) Keller of Huger, S.C., and Linda Trainer of Bloomington; two stepdaughters, Peggy Bragg of Bartonville and Kathy Jackson of Pekin; one stepson, Mike (Becky) Rollings of Groveland; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special neighbors, Bill and Nancy Jacobs.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one granddaughter, and his beloved dog, Tasha.
He was a machine operator for 37 years at Caterpillar Tractor Company. He retired in 1978.
Leo was active with the Peoria Blind Center, including the bowling league.
He was an avid Cubs fan and WWE fan.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and gardening.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Pastor Jack Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today, May 18, 2014, also at the funeral home. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery.
