EAST PEORIA - Virginia Ranney, 85, of East Peoria passed away at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria.
Meme was born in Tennessee on Oct. 3, 1928, to Walter and Nellie (Woolard) Suiter. She married Byron Ranney in Hopkinsville, Ky., on Nov. 5, 1949. Byron died on Jan. 21, 2007, in East Peoria.
Meme leaves a small family whom she loved with every ounce of her being. One daughter, Lynn (Jerry) Porter, and two granddaughters, Lindsay (Gary) Chance and Kristin (Jef) Westbrook, all of East Peoria, will cherish the memories of their beloved Meme. She also leaves three great-grandsons, Ash, Logan and Jett, who lit up her world like nothing else; and three granddogs.
Meme will be seeing three brothers who went before her.
Meme was a member of the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria. She loved her Lord, and we rejoice in her joining Him. Someday we will meet again.
Funeral services for Meme will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington, with burial following in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
