Wilma Wiedman Obituary
MORTON - Wilma A. Wiedman, 95, of Morton passed away at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
She was born Jan. 18, 1919, in Morton to John and Carrie (Slagel) Steiner. She married Albert 'Pete' Wiedman on Aug. 20, 1940, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2008.
She also was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mike Hughes; three brothers; seven sisters; and one stepbrother.
Surviving are three sons, Steve (Kay) Wiedman and Bill (Cindy) Wiedman, both of Morton, and Jay (Karen) Wiedman of Taylorville, Ill.; one daughter, Jean Hughes of Morton; seven grandchildren, Jen Wiedman, Jill (Tom) King, Chad (Dana) Beeman, B.J. Wiedman, Libby (Spencer) Swearingen, Emily (Mike) Repscher and Russell (Noel) Wiedman; 10 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and one half brother, Ivan (Lucille) Steiner of Morton.
Wilma attended May School through eighth grade and was a member of the Morton Garden Club. She was a loving wife and mother, wonderful homemaker and talented decorator. She enjoyed her beautiful flower beds and birds on the Wiedman Centennial Farm for 74 years. She treasured family gatherings for any occasion, doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wilma was a member of Morton Apostolic Christian Church, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014, with church ministers officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at the Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
