WASHINGTON - Milo Oliver Twist, 64, of Washington, Ill., passed away at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014.
He was born in Peoria, Ill., on May 2, 1950, to Oliver Milo and Violet Mabel Twist. He married Sherry Louise Gregory on June 14, 1970.
He served on the board of the Washington District Library, was one of the directors of Message of Life Ministries, was a member of Hilltop Campus Church and worked almost 40 years at Caterpillar, most recently working in the Reman IT Department.
More than anything else, his passion in life was his God and his family. Nothing gave him more joy and in nothing did he give himself as unreservedly. He lived his life sharing the unconditional love that was shared with him and is now home, reunited with the one he loved most, Jesus.
Milo is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Sherry; brothers, Bob (and Donna) and Matt Twist; daughters, Julie (Kip) Perhay and Joy (Jason) Buckmier; and 12 grandchildren, Hosanna, Justice, Mercy, Grace, Kerusso, Liberty, Patience, Mattia, Eitan, Ransom, Pierce and Oliver.
A visitation was held Tuesday, June 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Washington Christian Church. The home-going service will be held today, June 4, at 5 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Message of Life Ministries or Hilltop Campus Church.
Mason-White Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

It was with such great sadness and disbelief to learn of Milo's passing. I met Milo over 30 years ago at Caterpillar. I can honestly say he was one of the kindest, most gentle souls I ever met. He will be truly missed. My sympathy to your family.

Dear Sherry,
Our prayers are with you and the whole family at Milo's home-going. We remember you both as great young people and were so glad to see you as your family grew at Vi's house.
Wish we could be with you today or tomorrow but we have commitments that keep us from coming. We love you and send love from the girls you baby sat.

Sherry & family:
I worked with Milo in Reman for several years. I was excited to see him and catch up the last couple of times I visited the building. He was always one of the first to say "good morning" to someone in the hall and was constantly smiling! We talked about family quite a bit... he took such pride all of you. I hope that the coming days will be made easier by reminiscing about fun memories shared together.
With sincere condolences,

Milo was a true embodiment of Jesus Christ in the flesh. His fearless profession of Jesus Christ and what it means for all of us, his enthusiasm for life and those around him, and his gentleness in attitude will always be remembered.
