PEORIA - John H. Foster, 77, of Peoria passed away at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at his residence, to make heaven his home.
He was born Jan. 12, 1937, in New Albany, Miss., to the late Carl and Cressie Bryson-Foster.
He was a very caring, giving and loving person. He loved to garden and fish. John retired from his privately owned business, J & D Car Care, in 2002. John loved cars and could make them look like new money.
He married Cecile Mallory-Amerson on Sept. 3, 1957.
John leaves to cherish his precious memories, six sons James (Diane) Foster, Brent (Sandra) Foster, Brian (April) Foster and Todd (Teresa) Foster, all of Peoria, John H. (Brenda) Foster Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., and Kevin Foster of Bloomington, Ill.; two daughters, Fai (Joseph) Lowe and Lisa (David) Usher, both of Peoria; three sisters, Lillie (Daniel) Ferguson and Della Evans, both of Peoria, and Flossie Pennell of Milwaukee, Wis.; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his caregiver, Charesse Nelms (granddaughter).
He will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear and beloved friends who loved and adored him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sheila Foster; and three brothers.
A home-going service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at Heaven View Christian Church, with visitation one hour prior at 10 a.m. Pastor Tony Pierce will officiate. Interment will be at Lutheran Cemetery.
