PEORIA - Mary Lou Beam, 85, of Peoria, Ill., passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, surrounded by her family at her residence.
Mary Lou was born Nov. 3, 1928, in Wataga, Ill., to Charles A. and Ruby F. (Foster) Motz. She married James A. Miller on July 29, 1950.
They were married 32 years. He passed away April 28, 1982. She then married Edward A. Beam on Nov. 2, 1989, in Citrus Heights, Calif. He passed away Sept. 15, 2006.
Mary Lou is survived by her stepdaughter, Sharon K. Miller; son, Dennis (Judy) Miller; daughters, Cindy Snyder, Ruth (Ariel) Blancaflor, all of Peoria, and Susan (Mike) Payne of Canton, Ill.; sister-in-law, Joyce Motz of Naples, Fla.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; brother, James L. Motz; grandson, Sean Miller; and son-in-law, William Snyder.
Mary Lou loved spending time with her family, especially at her lakeside cabin at Wee-Ma-Tuk in Cuba, Ill. While at the cabin, she loved to fish. She also enjoyed golfing, and watching all different sports, especially the Chicago Bulls.
Mary Lou was a former member of Richwoods Christian Church in Peoria, and was also in support of Grace Presbyterian Church and their missions programs.
Funeral services for Mary Lou will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. Pastor Jack Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, June 15, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
In honor of Mary Lou, memorial donations may be made to Camp Kearney C/O South Side Mission, 1127 S. Laramie St., Peoria, or Unity Point Hospice, 221 NE Glen Oak Ave., Peoria.
