Danny Rademaker Obituary

DELAVAN - Danny L. Rademaker, 75, of Delavan passed away at 6:57 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born Jan. 28, 1939, in rural Delavan to Edward N. and Florence Reiners Rademaker. He married Marjorie Kay Springer on June 11, 1961, in Metamora, and she passed away April 4, 2009.

Surviving are three daughters, Cindy Rademaker VanDyke of Lexington, Ky., Kim (Mark) Howard of St. Joseph, Ill., and Diane (Brian) Bloxdorf of Union Grove, Wis.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Floyd (Margaret) Rademaker of Peoria; and two sisters, Nelda Vannaken of Delavan and Brenda Moehring of Galva.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Myrna; and two brothers, Dale and Ray.

Danny farmed in the Delavan and Emden area for 46 years.

He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Emden, where he served on the Lutheran Brotherhood and the church council. He was a member of Tazewell County Farm Bureau and Illinois Pork Producers and served on the Delavan School Board and Taloma Farmers Grain Co. Elevator Board.

He enjoyed golfing and spending winters in Florida, was an avid card player and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Emden. Pastor John Schurter will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan. Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
