WASHINGTON - Harry W. Larson, 87, of Washington died at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014, at Fondulac Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in East Peoria.
He was born on April 1, 1927, in Peoria to Harry W. Florence Gentry Larson. He married Alberta "Bert" Schick on Sept. 6, 1969, in Glasford, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are one cousin, Pat Hager of Arbor Vitae, Wis.; one brother-in-law, Dave (Juliet) Schick of Hanna City, Ill.; four sisters-in-law, Carol Schick of Morton, Evie Cool of Bartonville, Marlene (Roy) Struchen of Rockwell, Iowa, and Juanita (Harold) Vires of Bartonville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Melvin Schick and Ed Cool.
Harry worked 22 years for Reserve Supply Company in Peoria. He retired in 1989.
He also enjoyed gardening, bowling and traveling. He loved his family and was a skilled woodworker who enjoyed remodeling and other projects around the house.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Washington, where there was a funeral service Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. Pastor John Rothfusz officiated. There was a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is handling arrangements. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
