KNOXVILLE - Steven W. Yarbrough, age 54, of Knoxville, Ill., died on Thursday, June 19, 2014, in Branson, Mo.
He was born on June 19, 1960, in Weatherford, Okla., the son of John W. Yarbrough and Alice Maureen Harry. He was raised by his stepfather and mother, Richard "Corky" and Alice Maureen Harry of Knoxville, Ill. Steven married Leigh Ann Gosnell on Aug. 10, 1983, in Pekin, Ill. She resides in Knoxville, Ill.
Surviving are his son, Tyler Yarbrough of Knoxville, Ill.; his father, Richard Harry of Galesburg, Ill.; his grandfather, Kenneth Johnson of Clinton, Okla.; and an uncle and aunt, Bob (Donna) Gibbons of Sentinel, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Tyson; maternal grandmother, Edna Johnson; and his paternal grandparents.
He worked for J&J Commerce in Galesburg, Ill., in sales, purchasing and then as vice president for the past 14 years. He ran his own mail order business/pet shop, Peticulars, from 1996 to 2000. Previous employers were North Shore Canine Supply (Galesburg Division) and Blick Company of Galesburg, Ill.
He enjoyed scuba diving, photography, hiking and traveling.
He was a member at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Galesburg, Ill.
Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Galesburg, Ill. Elder Adrian Dillin will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., prior to services. A fellowship will be held at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center, following the services at the Kingdom Hall.
