Peoria centenarian dies
PEORIA - Audrey L. Fleisher, 100, of Peoria passed away at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Buehler Memorial Home in Peoria.
She was born April 4, 1914, to Severn and Elfrieda Berg. She married D. Paul Fisher on Sept. 12, 1938, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1964. She later married Gilbert Fleisher on March 31, 1972, in Peoria. He survives.
Audrey is survived by her children, Karen (Lee) Carrier of Goodletsville, Tenn., and Cheryl (Nicholas) Abaravich of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; her grandchildren, Kristen, Lee, and Amy; and her great-grandchildren, Zachary, Morgan, Conor and Cade.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
Audrey worked for Byerly Music as a bookkeeper for 10 years.
Audrey and Gil traveled far and wide for any opportunity to ballroom dance. She enjoyed playing bridge and loved to golf.
Visitation will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. today, July 2, 2014, at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. Funeral service will be at 9 p.m. on today, July 2, 2014, at the mortuary, with the Reverend Howard Love officiating. Private burial will take place at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
