PEORIA - Brother Thomas Dixon, 57, of Peoria passed away and departed this life at 12:30 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014, at his residence.
He was born on April 11, 1957, to Lemon and Beatrice Dixon in Osceola, Ark. His soul mate of 36 years, Barbara Rushing, survives him.
Thomas accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized at an early age. He graduated from Osceola High School.
Thomas was an outdoors man who loved fishing and gardening. He was employed at Oil Mills in Osceola, Ark., until his failing health.
He leaves to cherish his memories, soul mate, Barbara Rushing of Peoria; one daughter, Samantha Dixon of Osceola, Ark.; one brother, Paul Dixon of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Martina Dixon of Peoria and Roberta (Frank) Bouie of Wisconsin; and one grandson; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who adored him and will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother and two nephews.
Services will be held today, July 3, 2014, at 11 a.m., with visitation commencing one hour prior at 10 a.m., at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel, 201 N. Mac Arthur Highway. The Rev. Thurston Hunt will officiate. Interment will be private.
