EAST PEORIA - Lauri J. "Jodie" McDowell, 60, of East Peoria passed away at 7 a.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born Nov. 11, 1953, in Watseka to Charles A. and LuWana M. Dugas Seth Sr. She married Steve A. McDowell on Aug. 4, 1973, in East Peoria, and he survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Charles A. "Art" (Linda) Seth Jr. of East Peoria; two sisters, Dianne M. Hobbie of Pekin and Cheryl L. Seth of Minier; several special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and her cat, Pard. She was "Aunt Jodie" to many other people.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Jodie was a pharmacy technician and later worked at OSF Occupational Health in Peoria.
She attended Oak Grove Bible Church in Groveland.
She enjoyed antiquing, fishing and caring for others. She will be remembered for her unique sense of humor.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mennonite Cemetery in Hopedale.
